Story
On August 15th 2015 Jordan set off to complete the Cotswold sportive. Just after 10am he was involved in an accident that has changed his and his families lives forever.
Here’s a few words from Matthew, Jordan’s brother.
“We decided to hold a charity ride to raise money for the Great Western Air Ambulance as thanks to them Jordan is still with us today. There were many people that could take credit for saving his life on that fateful day - the doctors on the ride that gave him immediate attention, the fellow cyclists that physically lifted the vehicle off him, and the unbelievable doctors that performed hours of surgery to stop the internal bleeding.
“Ultimately though without the Air Ambulance this would be a very different story. It would be easier to list the bones that Jordan didn't break and unfortunately there was a severe head injury. We were told he wouldn't wake from his coma.
“Miraculously, 4 weeks on, he did and since then we've watched in awe at his recovery. His head and general injuries are life changing but as a family we can't thank the Great Western Air Ambulance enough for saving him.
“So the #TeamJordan ride is for them. It costs £1500 to £2000 every time they attend an accident and they run solely on donations and fundraising. It's a charity that nobody realises they need until they need them, and boy did we need them at the time of Jordan’s accident.
