The moustache is a much maligned facial accent.  But one of the finest exponents on the "Mouey" was my uncle, David Venn.  An absolute legend of a man, cruelly taken away from us on 23rd April 2011.

His moustache was the stuff of legend.  Worn with style, and panache, he was a different man without it.

On Sunday 24th April, I woke up with an overwhelming desire to sprout one of these upper lip attaches, and an idea was born.  I want to pay tribute to my Uncle Dave, while at the same time raising money for Cancer Research, to try and help the many sufferers around the world.

I am planning to grow and sport a moustache as a tribute to Uncle Dave, for a indeterminate period of time (because it will take me ages to grow something of significant lip stature), and hopefully get people to donate, as the moustache grows.  Move over Movember, I can't wait until the end of the year to grow one of these bad boys!

While one more moustache in the world is a good thing I would also, like to encourage anyone who is interested in becoming more stylish, debonair, attractive to the opposite sex to consider joining me in my quest.  To facilitate this I have set up the Moustache Mafia team so that our resources can be pooled to achieve a really significant total.  Please feel free to join the team at your earliest convenience.  So all you Reid/Reed and Venns out there......get growing!!!
