I guess it all begins with my Rottweiler, Samurai. I was blessed enough to have him as my best friend for 13 years and was completely heartbroken when he passed away November last year. We organised to have him cremated at Dignity Pet Crematorium and it was there that we read about the wonderful Endal, his owner Allen and first learnt about ‘Hounds for Heroes’.

We have always been avid supporters of ‘Help for Heroes’ as my partner recently retired from a 25 year military career and most of our friends are either still serving or come from a military background. So Hounds for Heroes combines the two things we respect the most, dogs and the military.

It’s been 11 months since I lost my boy and I still struggle with it daily. I used to run in the forest frequently every week but haven’t been able to face it since my dog died, last time I was happy in the forest I was with him.

So please PLEASE help me achieve my goal of raising the funds needed to help a puppy achieve his/ her goals, easing the physical and emotional difficulties a wounded soldier may be facing.

God knows Samurai helped me so many times over the years. Perhaps this is his last way of helping me deal with the grief of losing him, sending me a message through HOUNDS FOR HEROES .....” run Mamma RUN”!
