Fundraising for Simon Community Scotland
Fundraising for Simon Community Scotland
Hello! (Molly and Kieran here)
Thank you for taking the time to check out our page and show interest in helping us fight the battle against homelessness.
We are students at the University of Glasgow keen to support the GUCFS (Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show) - an amazing event that raises thousands of pounds each year for a chosen charity. This year we will be participating in their JAILBREAK in aid of Simon Community Scotland.
On the 2nd November we will set off from Glasgow with 36 hours to get as far away as possible from our starting point - without spending any of our own money on transport. We will be competing with other teams to see who can get the furthest and raise the most money all in aid of Simon Community Scotland.
Simon Community Scotland aims to combat the causes and effects of homelessness across Scotland. Based in and around Glasgow they provide support and advice for people who are in crisis, accommodation for people coming out of homelessness and housing support.
Simon Community Scotland run a 24/7 helpline for anyone concerned about homelessness and seeking advice and support as well as a street team that you can contact about someone sleeping rough24/7 Helpline (in and around Glasgow): 0800 027 7466
Over the last 10 years, the number of homeless people in Scotland has decreased from over 40,000 to 29,000. Making a donation no matter how small makes a difference to someone.
Let's keep making a difference!
lots of love, Molly & Kieran xxxx
