We had a wonderful experience at the Edinburgh marathon festival, with excellent weather conditions, stunning views and supportive local communities adding to the atmosphere of the event, we couldn’t have asked for more.  To use a footballing expression, it was a race of two halves.  As someone said to me before race, the half way mark of a 26.2 mile marathon is at 20 miles. This turned out to be our experience, we ran strong up to 20 miles by then we felt we had given our all, the last 6 miles were fuelled by sheer determination to cross the finish line.  We both completed the race in around 4hr 40 mins.  Your donation to our choosen charity Age UK will be very much appreciated for the support they provide for families caring for elderly relatives and to people in the later stages of life.
