No community has made a more substantial contribution to the people of Belfast than the Filipinio community - indeed, there is hardly a sick, infirm or vulnerable person in our hospitals or care homes who hasn't experienced the kindness and generosity of the people of the Phillipines who have come to our city in large numbers to work, especially, in the caring professions. In the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, therefore, it is important that we do all we can to help the aid agencies in their emergency relief work in the Phillipines.
