Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may of may not know, last year I ran the Bupa Great Manchester 10K Run for the first time. I was aiming for an hour as I'd never run that far before in my life. I clocked up a much better time of 53:33!
I ran, along with my sister in support of The Stroke Association. She had competed in support of this great charity previously but 2010 was even more special for us.
At Christmas 2009, our Grandfather suffered a Stroke. Although it was minor, for a man of 76 who has major heart operations not five years previously it was a massive shock to the system. This made our efforts to fundraise for a very important, yet somewhat overlooked charity even more important and personal.
I began to do my own research into Stroke victims and the most harrowing aspect is that, just like Cancer, they can affect people of all ages no matter what their physical condition.
That is why it is vitally important that you donate whatever you can. Even if it is £1 I'll be equally as grateful as for those who can and will give more.
I'll be bombarding you with requests and doing my own bit of fundraising as the big day approaches on Sunday 15th May 2011. I'll be doing my own bit of fundraising myself which you will find out about in due course. However this is the best and easiest way to donate.
So please dig deep and donate now, your donations and attention can make so much difference. Thank you very much!
