Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My relationship with Birmingham Children's Hospital started 21 years ago, as I was rushed through the doors of their children's ward with severe burns, aged just 22 months old. Scalded from head to toe as the water from a full kettle tipped over and poured off the side and down my body as I froze from the pain.

Rushed to the children's ward by my dad and grandad I was cared for by the nurses and doctors at the children's hospital, regular treatment was required to tend to the burns on my body. New dressings were constantly required and on numerous occasions skin would have to lasered off to aid with my body's recovery.

I would continue to be in and out of hospital for a year with check ups and dressings being changed, I even had to learn to walk again, as the scalding had caused me to have a drop foot. Once fully recovered I never returned to the hospital, however I will not forget the time they gave me and my family through what was a very difficult time, although I barely remember any of it
