Mickey's LEJOG Adventure

Nevis Rocks · 7 September 2013
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Mickey, Danny (19) Robbie (16) and Rory (13) Collins from Lochmaben in South West Scotland are taking part in a sponsored walk to the "highest gig in Britain" at the top of Ben Nevis on the 7 September 2013 to raise funds for the Love Hope Strength Cancer Foundation.
We are doing this to support a brilliant charity and to help in the war against Cancer and to make things interesting Mickey has 'volunteered' to cycle from Lochmaben to Fort William (about 250 miles) to take part in the walk.
Our fundraising started with us selling old phones, computer games, CD's and DVD's with Mickey even selling parts of his Alice Cooper and Marillion music collection! Thanks to everybody who has contributed so far.
We firmly believe in this Charity and are looking forward to the adventure. We are doing this in memory of Nana who is sadly missed and in support of our Brother and Uncle Stephen who is seriously ill. Every step of the walk and every turn of the pedals are for you.
Please put a spring in our steps by supporting our efforts.

UPDATE
This adventure is now well and truly over!
I am delighted to report that the event went well, despite some horrendous weather conditions in and around the Ben. On behalf of “Team Collins” I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who generously supported and sponsored the team with excess of £5500 being collected for this worthwhile and wonderful charity. Special thanks also to staff and customers of Lochmaben Post Office, Homebase and the wonderful Masonic Arms in Kirkcudbright for supporting our adventure.
We did it for Stevie!
