Story
As some of you may know I was myself diagnosed with cancer in December 2013. Major surgery followed in January 2014 followed by considerable recuperation, and now close and regular monitoring. Cancer, you think, will never happen to you, but of course nowadays that just isn't the case. Too many of my friends and family members have been affected both directly and indirectly by this most indiscriminate of diseases, and sadly this will continue. That is why this event means so much to me, and should for all of you kind people reading this aswell.
So, what better way to motivate myself to get fit again than having the opportunity to race around the Knavesmire and raise money for a fantastic cause? Having ridden out daily for years I've found that since having my daughter Ella, and then my surgery I haven't really got back into the groove, so this will be a serious jolt to the system! As a busy Equine Sports Massage Therapist I'm more often found behind the scenes keeping our four-legged equine athletes primed and ready for action, but come June 13th I'll be donning my breeches and silks and taking centre stage on the track myself!! Eeek!!
