Story
This year, I am running the Cambridge Half Marathon in memory of my cousin Rose. Last February, while working in her first year as a junior doctor, Rose suffered acute anxiety and tragically took her own life. The loss of Rose has had a profound impact on her friends and family and we all miss her terribly.
Rose and I ran together once and when I say 'together' I mean in the same race - she beat me by a full six minutes over 10km so I didn’t see her until the finish line after she scampered ahead of me from the start. I wasn't used to the mud and hills of Wimpole!
My adventurous, fun-seeking and cheese-loving little cousin was a joy to grow up with. At family gatherings she would always add to the fun by teaching us a new game and I will forever remember our ongoing dispute over who once ate the most of our Grandma’s amazing meringues (both always claiming that it was the other). Over the years we forgot which one of us was the meringue-eating monster and proudly shared our reputation.
Please give what you can to support the work of Mind so that others in Rose’s position may be able to get the help they need.
