Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
First, a little background about myself. I grew up in New Orleans, LA, and studied Political Science and History at the University of Pittsburgh, which I graduated from in 2010. I had known for years that I wanted to work abroad after finishing up school, and I ended up deciding to teach English as a Second Language in Saigon, Vietnam, where I've been living since September, 2010. I'm still teaching, and I also write for a prominent monthyl magazine called AsiaLIFE, which features travel, culture, and lifestyles articles geared towards the expatriate community.
Now for the event: H2H 2012 is an epic bike ride from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City (in Vietnam) - 2,000 kilometers, or 1,200 miles, over the entire month of February - through mountains, hills, rice paddies, lush valleys, and chaotic towns. 20 expatriate cyclists are participating in order to raise money for the Saigon Children's Initiative, an organization that pledges to help some Vietnam's poorest children get the education and healthcare they need.
I can't wait to see so much of this amazing country in a few weeks, and I look forward to your donations.
