Three Unwise Men, 1 Year, 10 Challenges, 4 Charities......

The year is finally upon us, what started as a drunken (or hungover) joke has well and truly become a reality and training is fully underway! We have set ourselves the physical, mental and no doubt emotional challenges to raise money for four fantastic charities, each of which mean a lot to us all.

Alzheimers Society is a charity i am sure you have all heard of, but it is one that has effected me on a personal level.

I am raising money for Alzheimers because of my Nan and Grandad. A few years ago, my Nan was diagnosed with Dementia and both my grandparents lives were turned upside down.

It was this experience above all else that has given me immense pride and admiration for my Grandad. Despite everything my Nan is going through, my Grandad visits her every day....! He visits on the good days and the bad days and is truely an inspiration to me.

The reason i share this is that Dementia, Alzheimers an Mental Health in general don't just affect those suffering from the diseases, they also affect their immediate family, having to watch their most loved ones deteriorate gradually until the disease consumes them.

There is no current cure for Alzheimers although rumours of scientific advances pop up every now and then. Although the money we are looking to raise is a drop in the ocean with regard to whats needed i would like to mention this quote
