Story
On Sunday 30th August I will be setting off on a roughly 8600 mile ocean race to Cape Town. My first leg will see me and the rest of my team of amateur sailors crossing the Atlantic to Rio, Brazil - this will be roughly a solid month on the boat living, racing and probably overheating (both bodies & tempers!) in very close quarters. After a short pit stop we then take on the South Atlantic, racing to the sight of Table Mountain in Cape Town. It's definitely going to be tough at times, but I can't wait to get going...
The yacht I'm sailing on is named Unicef and it's the only charity sponsored yacht in the fleet. I'm very proud to be part of the Unicef team as it's an organisation that does amazing work protecting and supporting children across the globe (including all the countries that the 11month Clipper Round The World race has a stopover in). My team mates, Unicef and I are all incredibly grateful for any donations you make that will enable the organisation to reach more children every day. Thank you!
