I won First Prize at the Bead and Button Show for the second year in a row in July. It's $300 and I feel it's reward enough to have the recognition and acclaim of my peers. I figured if I could use the gift certificate as a raffle prize, I might raise funds for an incredible organisation called Women for Women. As a female solopreneur who faces nothing like the struggles these women have been through, it brings me joy to think I could help them. I struggle a little with the relative selfishness of my work life and this makes me feel better about that too.
BREAKING NEWS! Lovely Alison Lee of Craftcast has donated $100 of online classes as second prize! http://www.craftcast.com/
I'm also doing this in memory of my mum, who was a wonderful artist, teacher and exceptional mother. I still feel her encouraging presence in my life even though she's been gone for 13 years.
It's £5 per "virtual raffle ticket", and you can buy as many as you like, so, for example, if you donate £20, I will put your name into 'the hat' four times.
Please, please, give what you can and think what fun you will have shopping while doing good in the world!
