Andean Volcanoes Challenge · 1 March 2020

We provide mental health services to the adoption and foster care community

Story

In March 2020, I will be joining 99 other HSBC employees from around the globe to trek Cotopaxi, an active volcano in the Andes Mountain region. Over the span of 5 days, we will hike the second highest summit in Ecuador, traveling more than 62 miles, and ascending to 14,000 feet. It will be both physically and mentally challenging, with 12+ miles to cover each day, carrying our own packs, tent sleeping and facing high altitudes.

Our mission is to successfully complete the trek, and to raise money and awareness for a mental health organization of our choice. The charity I selected is the Center for Adoption Support and Education Inc (C.A.S.E.), a national leader in mental health services for the adoption and foster care community. Their mission is to provide counseling and lifelong education to improve the lives of adoptees, foster children and their families.

I hope you'll consider supporting me in my trek by donating to C.A.S.E. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and it will bring awareness to a worthy and important cause!

About the charity

Our mission is to improve the lives of children who have been adopted or in foster care and their families through counseling, lifelong education, and a growing national network of trained professionals. Your gift helps children and youth who have already suffered loss, separation and trauma, and now must cope with the pandemic. With your support, adoptive, foster and kinship families can count on the mental healthcare they need.
