Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

So... I have been "encouraged" to join a team of "Wobbleberries" to complete a personal challenge! Everyone on the team will be aiming to compete at a British Eventing One Day Event by the end of 2017!

The idea is for riders who are mildly terrified to complete the challenge (and all the training that will be required to get there!) for the Willbery Wonder Pony charity, inspired by Hannah Francis.

You can find out more about the two challenge & the here: http://www.wobbleberries.com/ & https://www.willberrywonderpony.org/

I'm sure when you have had a read, you will understand why Hannah was such an inspiring young lady, and I cannot wait to raise some money for the charity!

The event we are aiming for is at the minimum height for British Eventing - 80cm! The One Day Event will involve... A Dressage test (Satin & I have never done Dressage!), Showjumping & Cross Country at both 80cm. Now most of you will know I have jumped my pony, however we have only ever jumped at a hunter trial up to 2ft3" (80cm is 2ft7"!) and to this date, we have never gone clear (jumped everything without stopping) even at 2ft or 2ft3".

Between us, my pony & I have a combined age of 50 (both old enough to know better), she's only 13.2hh so the jumps are not going to look anything except terrifying... and currently I am about as unfit as I have ever been! So we have a very long year ahead to train to get anywhere near being able to get round an 80cm course!

About the charity

The Charity was established by talented horse rider, Hannah Francis, following her diagnosis with the aggressive form of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. People all over the world followed Hannah's story which she told through her mascot, Willberry. Tragically Hannah passed away at just 18 years old.
