Story
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for visiting my page!
In less than 3 months, I will be embarking on what I hope will be a life-changing journey. One where I will be pushing myself and my body beyond the boundaries of what I thought I could do. But what makes this journey truly special is its cause - in early August, I will be taking part in this year's Cycling4Gaza initiative, joining 49 other cyclists as we embark on a 240km cycling journey through Norway to support the children of Palestine by raising funds for a UK-based non-profit organization called PACES.

I believe that every child has a right to a dignified life – to learn, live and laugh, to follow their ambitions and reach their full potential. As a
Palestinian who was fortunate enough to experience childhood at its
fullest, I feel a strong obligation towards helping other children realize
the simplest of right: the right to experience a childhood like
mine.
Over the years, I have continuously wanted to do more, but always felt there was a hurdle stopping me - whether it was time, access or otherwise.
I decided it was finally time to translate my obligation towards the children of Palestine to deed. But I can't start this journey alone. I need your help too.
I would be honored if you could support my journey to raise funds for PACES. You can support me by:
- Donating through this page (We can all make a difference together!). All your donations will go to PACES, the organization developing and funding sports programs for Palestinian children.
- Raising awareness about this initiative, Cycling4Gaza and PACES. Please share this page with your friends and networks on social media. (This is not just about the donations. It is equally important we continue to raise awareness about the Palestinian right to exist and live in freedom and dignity)
More on PACES:
PACES was founded 9 years ago for the almost exclusive aim of developing and funding much-needed sports programs for Palestinian children - for boys who would otherwise be on the streets with nothing to do and therefore exposed to potential extremism, violence and radicalization, and for girls who would be stuck at home feeling marginalized and not empowered.
The funds raised through Cycling4Gaza will be used to support 700 children and their coaches in Gaza. More specifically, 70% of the
funds will be used to cover the direct running of the PACES sports and civic social programs in Gaza as follows:
1.Support 28 female and male coaches
2.Support field staff members and programs communication
3.Provide uniforms and equipment for 700 children and their coaches; which are bought locally to support the local economy
4.Civic and social activities that includes health, hygiene, environmental and educational awareness sessions and fun activities for the children
5.Coaches capacity building workshops, parents public meetings and other activities with the sports centers and clubs
6.Support one team of boys/girls from PACES children in Gaza to participate in the 2016 Norway Cup
The remainder of the funds will contribute to the PACES
sports program in West Bank and the refugee camps in Lebanon.
Through this year’s cycle PACES will create much-needed employment for over 600 coaches in Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon. These jobs are for young men and women who would otherwise have very few opportunities of work.
PACES is a UK-registered organization that does not have any political affiliations. Website is at www.pacescharity.org
Thank you for you support.
