Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have spent the past few years focusing on improving my health and fitness, although losing just over 100lbs has been very pleasing I miss the challenge that came with it. That is why a while back I stated 'One day' I will run the London marathon.
Hopefully that day will come soon enough but in the meantime I’m focusing my attention on the Great North Run for a second year, giving myself a little more running experience instead of jumping in at the deep end.
I decided to run for diabetes UK their aim are simple; fund vital research for a future without diabetes, while helping children and adults to manage their diabetes today. Your donation will help diabetes UK continue their research into the causes of diabetes, and their work to prevent and, one day, cure the condition, provide invaluable services such as; support holidays for children and families, and the Diabetes UK Careline, which all provide information and emotional support for people living with diabetes.
Why run for Diabetes UK? I have family, friends, people that are close to my heart who have been affected by diabetes and I have seen those affects first hand I’m doing it for and because of them.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please support me and this great cause in any way you desire, donate, share this page or even send me a motivational message. Thanks.
Matthew.
