For those people who know me you probably thought it more likely I would be volunteering for either "the worlds longest lock-in" at my local pub or some kind of "spicy curry compeition" however instead I will be attempting to run - or more likely crawl - the distance of 26.2miles!
So to begin with a little bit about my running history........(this space is left intentionally blank).......I have no running history! I have never taken part in anything so much as a fun run before. Infact growing up playing football I would always choose to go in goal and generally this was the position that required the least amount of running.
Next a little about my training preperations.....untill Janurary this would of read "see above" however over the past few weeks I have endvoured to pull myself away from the couch and go outside to start my training, which has taught me several important lessons 1. I am slow 2. I am unfit (very) 3. My walking speed doesnt differ much from my running speed 4. Vaseline finally has a purpose!
For those people that have been asking me what my hopes are for the day in terms of a completion time my answer is simple "I would love to complete it on the Sunday but if it takes longer then it takes longer".
If the above section has not given you a view of me/my training then I have been informed by approximately 20 work colleagues so far that I resemble the main character from a film called 'Run Fat Boy Run' - which given that I havent seen the film I'm not too sure how to take!!
Finally if anybody would like to donate, of literally any amount, and add any words of support - or infact more likely words of banter - this will be a huge motivation for me as I attempt to take on this giant challenge.
Thank you.
