Double Marathon Pulling a 1.5 tonne Car · 16 January 2019

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

Powered by Hook Norton Butchers!

Hey everyone!

After a global pandemic and a broken knee, this is finally happening!

After cycling 950 miles in 2018, numerous triathlons, and cycling from John O Groats to Lands End on a 20 year old exercise bike during lockdown, I've founded myself here.

I’m going to be pulling a car for 2 marathons, non stop. The Home Guard Club, Tiddington, have kindly donated the use of their cycling track for me to undertake this challenge. Starting in the early hours on Thursday 7th September 2023, I aim to beat the world record for the fastest marathon pulling the Hook Norton Butchers van, and set the world record for the furthest distance pulling a road going vehicle, all while raising money for Beat. On Saturday 9th September, there will be a live band and a hog roast and family day to cheer me on across the line, so please come and visit! All your help and support is massively appreciated

For this event, I’m raising money for Beat, the leading charity in supporting those suffering from eating disorders. This is a charity very close to me and with your donations, the lives of many can be changed. In a world flooded with idiots promoting quick fix fad diets, more and more people are falling into depressive and suicidal states over body image and how social media portrays its idealism’s.

Thanks for reading, and please donate, no matter how big or small, it will go a long way in changing lives.

Love,
Matt x
