So Matthew and I have joined forces to smash the first triathlon to be held in Cardiff in loving memory of his sister, Lynsey, who passed away from cervical cancer after putting up a fight with the help of Velindre, a story unfortunately so many of us are all familiar with. As more and more people are now thankfully surviving and living with cancer the ongoing demand for continued support and continued treatment at Velindre is increasing rapidly, meaning every penny raised now is as vital as ever to maintain the levels of treatment and care that so many families have been accustomed to and rely on at Velindre.

The triathlon consists of a 750 metre swim through Cardiff Bay itself, a 20km/12.2mile cycle and finishes with a 5k/3.1mile run - and we're both completely out of our comfort zones! Matthew in particular having only learnt to swim last year!! 

We'd really love to raise as much as possible with this small challenge as it's nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands of cancer patients who are seen by the amazing doctors and nurses at Velindre!
