Story

Running the London Marathon in aid of "THE SILVER STAR SOCIETY FUND 0347"

Hello, I’m Mat the proud father of 2 very special boys Edward aged 2 and Louis ages 1 who thanks to the amazing staff at the JR and in particular the Silver Star team are now growing up to be health happy toddlers. My wife had very difficult pregnancy’s with both our children having preeclampsia on both occasions, and therefore spending many hours before birth in the hospital and then time on level 6 after birth. My second child also spend 6 weeks in special care after birth as he was born with HSV-1 which resulted in Louis developing encephalitis, me and my wife Hannah received the most amazing support from all the staff at the JR and I really want to do something to acknowledge the
amazing work the team do in not only caring physically for newborns and mothers
but also supporting the family emotionally.

It would be amazing to do the London marathon no matter what but to do it in support of Silver star is not only a way to end a difficult time in my family’s life but would also help me to say the thankyou that words just don’t do justice.

thank you
