Story
Thank you for visiting this site in support of this challenge and cause.
Last summer, when I was diagnosed with a brain tumour, I set little goals. One of these was to be well enough to take part in the inaugural Swavesey 5 road race. Sadly I assumed it was 5 kilometres not 5 miles - 'always read the small print'!
Well it is now upon us and thanks to my trusty treadmill I feel about ready. However due to a back pain that appeared just three days before the race now it will be a power walk. My PB at 18 years old was sub 30 mins - now likely to add an hour!
Thanks to to my brother Trevor for joining me. - it's his care in the community project : 'a day out with Rain Man'. Also means the Chuckle Brothers are taking part -see picture - I am Barry. I can blame the treatment - not sure what his excuse is!
Many thanks to all the staff, students and parents at SVC this year - for your continuing best wishes AND your amazing commitment to fundraising for cancer charities. It has been a great tonic! Martin.
