Story
Hello friends,
I am excited. At the end of November I am joining an all-female team on a self-funded trek across the rarely travelled Tsum Valley of Nepal in the Himalayas to raise awareness and funds for ending violence against women.
It will be a challenging trip - averaging eight hours of hard hiking per day over ten days finishing at the Ngula Dhojhyang Pass at 5,093 meters altitude.
I will probably complain a bit. I will wish I had dry socks (or clean underwear). I might spend hours on the verge of vomit. I most likely will do something ridiculous. There will for sure be pictures. You might even get a postcard if you send me your address when you make a donation.
As a team we aim to raise $100,000 SGD to support two excellent charitable organisations.
1) AWARE - the Association of Women for Action and Research is Singapore's leading gender equality advocacy group. Women on a Mission has partnered with AWARE on the We Can! End All Violence Against Women global campaign, which hopes to mobilise 1000 Change Makers and community organisations to spread awareness and action for a violence-free Singapore.

2) Women for Women International (WfWI) - an independent humanitarian organisation, which provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency. WfWI operates in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan. Over the course of twenty years, WfWI has helped over 400,000 women survivors of war and created a change in the lives of over 2 million community members as a result.

I am asking you to get involved by making a donation, spreading the word, and asking questions!
See you on the road!
