Story
On the 5th of April 2012 I will be taking part in the Border2Border 2012 challenge to raise awareness and money for Fibromyalgia Association UK.
In this challenge myself and the team will be attempting to walk the entire length of the Norfolk coast (that's nearly 100 miles) in just 5 days. This would be hard enough for any "able bodied" person but - and here's the twist - the team is led by Rebecca Wass, who suffers herself from fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. It is a common illness, in fact it is more common than rheumatoid arthritis and can even be more painful. Unfortunately due to a lack of money and research it is a condition with no cure or specific medication.
This is where we - and you - come in.
On our side of the bargain, we will be sweating on the paths of the Norfolk coast and getting all sorts of blisters along the way. We will support Rebecca in her own effort (which promises to be even more consequential than our own). We will raise awareness on the effects of fibromyalgia along the way and how, with a heathy dose of determination, exercise and positive attitude, its distressing symptoms can be managed.
For your side of the bargain, we are counting on you to support financially our chosen charity - Fibromyalgia Association UK.
Remember, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now! Hopefully we will see you in Hopton at the end of our journey!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
