Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the Great North Run to raise money for greater research into Brain Tumours, which affect more people under 40 than other types of cancer.
Those who know me well will know that I lost a good friend as a result of a brain tumour about 7 years ago & have another friend who is currently having treatment for a brain tumor (& doing brilliantly it has to be said). Both of these amazing people have been truly inspirational in they way they've battled this terrible illness.
Many of you will also know that I ran the Great North Run back in 2008, just before I found out I was pregnant with my first little boy (Charlie) & earlier this year I had my second little boy (Jamie). Needless to say running has been off the agenda for a little while - since Oct 2008 in fact! So this is also a personal challenge for me!
I started training last week & although I'm slow I'm really enjoying getting back into running. Miraculously I'm managing to get out 3 times a week to train!
Your sponsorship would mean a lot to me as I know research is the only way forward to finding a cure for brain tumours. Although 20% of all cancers spread to the brain, brain tumour research gets less than 1% of national cancer research spending.
