Chris was one very special person that touched the lives of so many. His care and compassion for others shone through from the very first moment I met him. 

Like many others I used to find myself laughing at what can only be described as Chris's contagious laugh and at the tricks and pranks that he played on colleagues.

Long before Chris was diagnosed with cancer he gave his backing to the Stars Appeal helping to raise funds and more recently to the CT Scanner campaign during his illness - using his story to help explain why it was so important to have the second scanner. The Stars Appeal have described Chris as being a 'long term supporter and friend'.

Chris was so excited at the end of January, when I told him I was thinking of taking part in this trek but little did we know then that I would be doing it in his memory! 

In April I asked Liezel  if she would mind me walking in Chris' memory, to continue his fundraising efforts and she has given me her full support and blessing to do so.

The money that I raise will be split between the Pembroke Unit, NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) and the new dedicated Breast Cancer Unit.
