Sunday'Brighton Marathon Day'... JOB Done!!
Finished in 4:09. A marathon record for me; so really chuffed. Truly takes such determination, resilience and a strong mindset when every part of your body is telling you to stop and walk!
THANK YOU for your generous support for such a fabulous cause.
Flat shoes tomorrow without a doubt!!
Saturday 16th: 1 DAY TO GO... The final countdown!!!!
Preparations complete, nails painted & hair straightened; just a little run to finish before celebrations can begin.
Thank you for your support. Will update you on the other side of the finish line ✨✨✨✨✨
Friday 15th: 2 DAYS TO GO!!!!...THANK YOU to everybody for their generous donations. I travel down to Brighton this evening to prepare for Sunday.
Weather looks set to be 'good running weather' - Goldilocks: Not too hot, not too cold!!
I am desperately trying to drink water and eat carbs (this is quite alien to me, but I'm looking forward to eating rice with a Chinese takeway for the first time in a decade!!!) See, there are benefits to running 26.2 miles!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page
THINK PINK and GET SPORTY…26 miles of blood, sweat and tears…
Mrs Lewis to run the Brighton Marathon in support of Breast Cancer Care...Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with 1 in 8 woman diagnosed in their lifetime. Unfortunately, this is something that most families have a personal experience with.
This is sadly also true in our Upton family; with a member of staff recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I am pleased to say that she returned to work, fit and well in January – however, this charity remains very close to our heart and I am proud to offer my support.
I will take to the streets of Brighton to run my second marathon on Sunday 17th April (2 days time!!) Those of you
that have been associated with Upton for three years or more, will remember that I started running as my ‘New Year’s Resolution’ on January 1st 2013 (it was my ‘get fit at 40 campaign!).
Your support and good wishes have been very much appreciated in these final weeks of training; if you have seen me out and about, pounding the streets of Thanet – thank you for waving, cheering me on and your words of encouragement!
