Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm raising money with some local riders who are members of the Bryncoch Bombers Cycling club. As a club we have nominated a few local charities to be our benefactors for 2016.  I'll be undertaking a personal individual cycling challenge to add to the pot. I'm raising money for both Prostate Cymru, and SILA a chairty which supports those affected by Sarcoidosis

Those of you who know me will understand after completing dozens of road races, triathlons and all sorts, including 4 x London Marathons. and 4 x Ironman races, a simple 5k jog or completing the Gower Bike ride will not be enough, so I needed something a bit harder than those........ :-)

I've decided to ride from the Bombers' Saturday morning ride meeting point, The Bryncoch Pub, all the way down to Lands End in Cornwall. I'm planning on doing the full route, unsupported in 1 day (most Lands End to John O Groats cyclist take 2-3 days for this leg) The route will cover nearly 300 miles and over 20,000 feet of climbing, so even for a 4 x Ironman, its no mean feat!!!! I'll only be stopping to restock on food and drinks, as I anticipate burning nearly 10,000 calories for the whole ride. I'll be doing it mid summer 2016 to maximise the amount of daylight for the ride I'm hoping to do it in 18-20 hours depending on weather/traffic/acts of God!!!

Give as much or as little as you want.  A very close mate has been recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of this condition, and its a little known disease with very little funding to support the victims. Thanks for your support.

Sarcoidosis is a rare disease and has poor information, support and little research for finding a cure. We work to change that. Our 4 goals; information, support, awareness and research. We receive no government money and are 100% reliant on your generosity. Any donation makes a huge difference.
