Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Cancer needs beating -several of my immediate family have been within it's grips, unfortunately not all have survived. I am also riding with thoughts of colleagues at work - many of whom have suffered this terrible disease. This is the first Inspired Living ride to fall within term dates, so I am now able to participate. I am a novice to such long rides - the furthest I've ridden before is 72 miles. This is 1140 miles over 13 days - it's going to be a challenge in every way you can possibly think of! I'm trying not to think too much!! My training has been set back a little as I needed knee surgery in March, however I am determined to get to Rome - the Alps will be 'interesting', aren't they for skiing not cycling? Having done a couple of training rides with some of the team, I think they now realise what a huge effort it will be to get me there!  I will keep going but I won't be in the lead! In an ideal world I would like to raise £1 for every mile cycled, but if I can manage even 50p it's worth it. (I'll remind my nether regions of that as I'm crying with pain a few hundred miles into the ride!)

Thank you for taking the time to read my page and sponsor me - it's appreciated and all for a good cause.
