Story
OK I am going to try and keep this as short and to the point as possible.
You all know that in 2009 I set up THHN and we provide free fun filled holidays for families affected by serious illness and bereavement.
Since then we have provided nearly 400 families with very special memories that they will treasure forever - for some it has been the last holiday they have taken before losing a beloved family member to a cruel illness.
Currently THHN has to turn away many families who are seeking a final getaway, in preparation to lose a child or parent to illness. These are families who have high level care needs and understandably our current - very generous accommodation providers simply do not have the facilities needed to accommodate such needs.
The plan is to raise near on one million pounds to build a special holiday bungalow and create a very special holiday destination where these families can enjoy some very special holidays and build precious memories that will help carry them through the very dark days that lay ahead.
My drive and determination will not stop until the project is complete!
So, on May 3rd 2014 I am entering the Centurion Running Thames Path 100, a 100 mile trail race ultra marathon. The 100 mile course starts in London and finishes in the centre of Oxford following the Thames against its flow. The run will be completed in one go, under 24 hours - if all goes to plan! You can find more information on the race here http://www.centurionrunning.com/thames-path-100-2014/thames-path-100-2014/
This is by far my biggest and craziest challenge, taking huge amounts of preparation time in training, running up to 73 miles a week!
I kindly ask that you please be as generous as you can with your very kind and much appreciated donations of your hard earned cash! We need every single penny we can get our hands on and more. The sooner we have the money for the project the sooner we can get families who are in much need of time together enjoying very special holidays indeed!
A huge heartfelt thank you to you all who have supported myself and THHN in the past and continue to do so, without you the charity would not exist!
