We are helping to create social change to keep children out of orphanages
Story
#100forchildsi is simply ticking something off your bucket list.
It was a campaign set up by @londonkirsty with the aim of finding 100 people to raise £100. Not only do you accomplish something you've always wanted to do but you also help find an abandoned baby a family.
Child's i Foundation run an emergency care centre in Uganda and babies are admitted to us by the police. They are dumped in pit latrines, on the roadsides and in rubbish bins in Kampala. Our last two little baby girls were abandoned on a rubbish dump and a septic tank and weighted a pitiful 2kg's.
Our aim is to get them into loving families so their tragic beginning is never remembered.
£100 pays for our social work team to trace family members. If we can't find anyone then we have a waiting list of approved families who will provide them with love, a sense of belonging and be part of their family.
So for 24 hours I am not going to speak a word. Maybe in a world of no dramas for 24 hours I will find my inner voice but in the meantime there will be some peace and quiet for all friends and family. That's an incentive and a half to dig deep and help me raise my £100 target.
Thank you for all your support
Love Lucyxxx

We believe in families, not orphanages. We’re helping Uganda reimagine care so that no child anywhere need ever experience an orphanage again. We help repurpose orphanages into services that people really need, keeping families together, reuniting families or finding new ‘forever families’.
