We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to have been given the chance to ride in the St Patrick’s Derby at the Cheltenham Festival on Thursday, March 14 and raise money for Cancer Research.

We can all relate to the aims of Cancer Research. For me, I’m driven to take this challenge to support my mum, Carol (pictured above with her homebred Granwood) who has Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. She’s doing great and can’t wait for Cheltenham, but Cancer Research can play a hugely important role in developing drugs that can prolong her life and potentially the lives of us all if we’re affected by cancer. I haven’t ridden in a race since my point-to-point days many years ago, so I’m both excited and a tad scared, but I will give it my all to get fit, and get fast!

Every little helps. So give what you can and try and make it to Cheltenham to cheer on everyone riding in the race.

P.S And then make sure you’re around in the Arkle bar afterwards to buy me a drink. I will need it!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
