Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. This page is in loving memory of our beautiful second daughter Erin. She was born on the 25th August 2011 and unexpectedly died less than an hour later. Her short life has touched so many people - she is a much loved daughter, sister, grand-daughter, niece and cousin and we all miss her so very very much. Our family is devastated by the loss of Erin.
We were not the only family to lose a precious baby that day. Sadly 17 families a day in the UK are touched by the tragedy of Stillbirth and Neonatal death - thats over 6200 families a year. A shocking statistic. By donating to Sands you will be helping to fund research that could help to reduce the amount of babies lives lost.
Your money will also help the charity to continue it's excellent work supporting beareaved parents. By working with hospitals and health care professionals they are able to improve the quality and sensitivity of the care provided to bereaved parents, their babies and families.
Whilst we were in the hospital after Erin was born we were given a memory box donated by Sands. In it we now have her hand and foot prints, a lock of her hair, some photos and other precious memories of her. These memory boxes cost Sands £10 to put together so your donation could go towards providing these valuable boxes to hospitals.
We would be so grateful for anything that could be donated to this charity - they have provided myself and Dan with much needed support since Erin died and we would like to honour her memory by giving something back.
