Story
InfoSys Limited and Total Guide to Swindon are delighted to be a sponsor of Swindon Ten to Eighteen Project (STEP). We are very proud to announce in partnership with Total Guide to Swindon that we will be hosting a Charity 24 hour Marathon 5-A-Side Football event at Futsal Arena, Swindon on the 7July 2012.
This will be a tough challenge for all of us taking part but we are determined to do it, and raise much needed funds for STEP along the way to support a local charity working to help local people.
We would really appreciate your support of to help us raise funds to help this very worthy charity to continue their valuable work.
More about the Swindon Ten to Eighteen Project
STEP is a registered charity, providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people aged 10 - 18, who are experiencing isolation and exclusion due to either their lack of social skills, personal circumstances or poverty, living in Swindon or the wider community.
They work creatively under the Every Child Matters guidance, using therapeutic group work to enable children and young people to make a positive contribution to society through the delivery of life and social skills, with recognition of achievement through accreditation.
Here's what the young people think of STEP:
It is made me happy and smiley and helped me make some friends”
“I think STEP has helped me with my confidence. When I first came to STEP I was unhappy talking but now I can talk out loud”
“I think that STEP is the best thing that had ever happened"
Parents/carers comments:
“She loves attending evening groups. She loves being around normal people who have experienced similar things to what she has. She has improved hugely since attending STEP. She always comes home in a good mood and this has in turn improved my own mental health”
“Thanks to STEP he makes small changes on a daily basis. We are very encouraged and he is better with his school friends”
“He now ‘belongs’ to something where he does not need to pretend to be something else. He has improved socially and we have no mood swings whatsoever”
“STEP is a fantastic resource and is very much appreciated by this family. He enjoys the time out with his peers and seems to be making friends. It also allows us, as parents, to give a little time to our smaller children and recharge our batteries, which enables us to appreciate him more. “
STEP is doing amazing work and has improved the lives of so many young people, but they do need funding to carry on their work. Your support would mean a great deal to us in helping raise as much money as possible for what is a fantastic cause.
I look forward to discussing the sponsorship options available in more details with you shortly. In the meantime, if you have any queries or would like to know more about this fundraising event you are very welcome to contact me.
