I started rowing at the Lea almost 3 years ago.  It was a warm welcoming club with an enthusiastic group of women to row with.  But now, the club is at risk.  Our lease is up for renewal and we need to raise significant funds to improve the boathouse and prove to the council that we are committed to supporting the needs of the community.  

Being the only rowing club in the area, we are uniquely positioned to provide access to rowing to the Hackney and surrounding areas.  We have active junior, women, men and masters squads.  It would be a great loss to our members (and me personally!), to the community and especially to our youngest members who are just being introduced to the sport.
