Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 21st October 2012 I will be running the Birmingham Half Marathon. I have decided to fundraise for Birmingham Children's Hospital and in particular my friend's son's charity 'George's Heart Monitor Appeal':
A message from George's mum - Why put ourselves through this?
The team is raising funds because of a special 6 year old little boy, my son, George, who has undergone several major heart surgeries at BCH. We are raising funds to buy vital heart monitoring equipment for the cardiac wards at BCH.
Two years ago, we nearly lost George when his aorta ruptured a few weeks after undergoing heart surgery. He underwent emergency surgery and thankfully all is now well.
George has spent many weeks under the great care of these wards and I have spent many an anxious hour glued to the heart monitors, waiting to see improvements. New oxygen monitoring equipment is urgently needed. The machines cost about £2,000 each and this is where you can help. All money donated will be put towards buying this equipment. Please help with whatever you can.
Thank you - Vicky Watson (George's Mum) xxx
