I am raising money for the fantastic charity Brainstrust (please visit http://www.brainstrust.org.uk/index.php. 

I have been lucky enough to be selected to take a place on the Plinth in Trafalgar Square for one hour on 16th August for the One and Other project. www.oneandother.co.uk I wanted to do something useful with my time, and so have decided to raise money for this much deserving charity. 

Brainstrust is a UK based brain cancer charity, dedicated to improving clinical care for brain tumour sufferers and providing co-ordinated support in their search for treatment. They provide support and advice at the point of diagnosis and beyond, by updating treatment, improving care, and ultimately, saving lives.

They support patients and their familes, work with hospitals to secure care pathways for patients, campaign and advocate on behalf of the brain tumour community, fund technology for treatment, and fund research that translates into clinical practice.

This devastating illness has affected my family this last year and so as an attempt to help raise funds for future researching and development into tackling this, I seek your support in raising as much money as possible.

To support their mission, "to make things happen for people with brain cancer", I will be spending my hour attempting to make the longest paperchain possible (to see if I can touch the floor from the plinth!!).
