CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE RIDERS
On Saturday, May 29th 2010, over 50 riders cycled across the finish line at Liverpool ONE, having completed a 250 mile ride from London to Liverpool in just two and a half days to raise money for the Liverpool ONE Foundation.
The Liverpool ONE Foundation, administered by the Community Foundation for Merseyside, was established by Grosvenor and its investor partners, with the express aim of helping the lives of local people in Merseyside, especially Liverpool, by providing support for good causes in and around the city. Projects for which grants are given must meet one or more of the following themes: the prevention or relief of poverty; education and skills (especially for young people); social and community advancement; or health.
In February 2010, the Liverpool ONE Foundation approved nearly 60 applications awarding nearly £300,000 in grants to local causes - averaging just under £5,000 per grant. Whilst this is something to truly celebrate, the fact that over £1m of grant applications were made, emphasisis the continuing need for funds in this area.
Whilst the ride has been completed, however, it is not too late to make a donation. By doing so, you are significantly contributing to a wide range of very good causes in the Merseyside area. The cyclists worked very hard to earn the right to sponsorship, so all you have to do is make a donation. Please give generously!
If you would like to know more about the Liverpool ONE Foundation, or the ride please contact one of the people below, or indeed, any of the riders.
On behalf of all the riders, and the beneficiaries of the Foundation, thank you for your support.
