Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am supporting this cause as part of the effort to raise £25m to open a state-of-the-art Centre for Cancer Immunology at the University of Southampton in 2017.

I believe that every bit counts whether it is £1, £5 or even £10. So, please try to help me fundraise for this really important causes.

Both my grandfathers died of cancer before I was born and I never had the opportunity to meet them. I would like to help others to have the opportunity to have their family members and friends who have cancer to have them for longer.

Cancer is one of the main causes of death worldwide, and with our ageing population, it’s becoming much more common. In the UK, one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime.

Research at the University of Southampton is discovering how immunotherapy can enable the body’s immune system to recognise and kill cancer cells.

Immunotherapy has the potential to treat 100 different types of cancer. With continued research, vaccines for certain cancers could be available in just 15 years.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
