Story
Hi, My name is Karen, I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in May 2007 that was aggressive and has now spread to my hip, spine and liver and my right lung has partially collapsed.
Everyone says that I am nutts, and because Macmillan Cancer Support has helped me so much over the last 4yrs I wanted to do something for them.
My partner in crime is Nickie and we have decided to do some scrambling in Snowdon....
On Saturday 3rd September 2011; We got within half an hour of the summit of Snowdon, but due to very severe weather conditions of heavy rain, hale stone and 60 mile an hour winds we had to turn back, as the risk of going over a 6 foot wide ridge was too great. This will not stop us. We will finish it next year when the weather gets better.
We'll keep you informed of when we will set out to do it, but this time it will be a last minute decision. No future planning of a date, we will be going when we see the weather is going to be good. You can also keep upto date on what is happening at my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Breast-Cancer-Story
PLEASE PLEASE DIG INTO YOUR POCKETS AND SPONSOR US TO GET TO THE SUMMIT. EVERY POUND HELPS TOWARDS PUTTING A SMILE ON A CANCER PATIENTS FACE.
