Story
Hi - my name is Lesley, Lesley the crazy cat lady
I’m an Olympic level couch potato and also happen to be the Branch & Membership Secretary for Horsham & District Cats Protection. As my crazy cat lady name suggests I will do anything for cats. I’m a whole lot of crazy, so I’ll be completing ‘The Thames Bridges Trek’ on the 7th September 2017.
I say completing but the furthest I normally walk is to and from the coffee shop so this will be quite the challenge. This epic trek covers 25km starting at Putney Bridge and finishing at Southwark, just beyond Tower Bridge. There’s 16 bridges in total and there had better be coffee at the finish line!
My 'better half' and long suffering trek buddy is Andy.
Andy is a canal head and would probably rather be greasing the stern gland or polishing the tiller of his boat than pounding the pavements, but his saving grace is that he is also cat crazy. So he too is enduring sore knees, aching muscles and multiple blisters to ensure he reaches the finish line on September 7th.
We are raising money for a great cause! £150 is the average
amount it costs us to care for each cat in our pens before they are rehomed. We are doing all the hard work training, but all you need to do is click the little donate button and help us meet our fund raising target.
Cats Protection help over 200,000 cats and kittens every year thanks to our network of over 250 volunteer-run branches, 32 adoption centres and help from sponsorship and donations. There is so much more we could tell you about this fantastic charity and the people who work there, but just look at www.cats.org.uk. All money we raise will go directly to Horsham & District Branch.
So please dig deep and help us support a great cause!
