Lesley's The Wobbleberries Challenge

The Wobbleberries Challenge · 2 September 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My pony (JP) and I are challenging ourselves by training to do a BE80 as part of The Wobbleberries Team in late summer 2017. For my non-horsey friends this is like a mini Badminton three day event with a Dressage test, a cross country course of about 80cm and a show-jumping course of 80cm. As you all know I am not in the prime of life(!) and have never really done any jumping, let alone cross country. JP is still a baby at only six years and also has never jumped other than a few lessons that I've had on him. We have only very recently done our first fun ride which we both loved. He is, however, very different from a typical eventer as rather than a large sports horse, he is a little native type pony standing at just 13.3 hands. In fact he only just meets the minimum height (13.2 hands) for this class of event. I'm really excited to have been selected to take part in the challenge as it's for such an amazing cause, but am also very apprehensive if not outright scared! I hope you will all get behind me both financially and by providing moral support and encouragement. Thanks.
The charity was set up by the late Hannah Francis who was a woderfully positive young lady and a perfect role model for riders (and non-riders) of all ages. Her efforts to raise awareness of teenage cancers should not be underestimated. #kickingcancersbutt
