Story
When I was given the opportunity to take part in this year's 'Strictly Oxford' competition I was thrilled - how could a girl say no? This girl couldn't. My job is all about finding ways to improve people's health and well being, and one of my current projects involves a community dance-based exercise class for pregnant women called Zumba 4 BUMP. It is important to me to 'walk the talk', and dancing is a great way to keep active and have fun at the same time.
More importantly, the purpose of Strictly Oxford is to raise funds for people with dementia and their families at an innovative end of life care home ‘Vale House’ in Sandford. This is a subject near to my heart as my life and the lives of many of my friends are touched by someone with dementia.
With just four weeks to master the Cha Cha Cha and Tango before we perform at the New Theatre on April 27th the words of my son’s drum teacher are ringing in my head – “practice makes perfect – but only if it is perfect practice!”
