Story
In 2004 after having an operation for a serious back injury doctors told me I may never be able to walk again without the aid of a walking stick let alone run. Well always up for a challenge and never one to be told what I can and can't do I put my mind and body to work to prove them wrong. It has been a long and sometimes hard road but I started training and got into Triathlon and never looked back.
However I have always had the urge to run a marathon so when I sadly lost my brother 4 years ago I made a promise to myself that in m y 50 year I would do it in his memory. Little did I know that my 50 would come around so fast!!
But I have always put my money where my mouth is and here I am. As I said I am running it in my brothers memory but when I heard about Matilda’s Kelly I knew that if my brother was here today he would want me to raise money to help this little girl. So that is what I am doing.
Matilda is a 3 year old girl who is suffering from Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy and she needs an operation to help her walk and to live a happy normal life of a 3 year old. The NHS will not do the operation for her and she and her family have no choice but to go to America to get it done. So far they have managed to raise a staggering £53,000 but they still need £17,000 more so come on help me and Matilda out. I know times are hard but if we cannot help out a little girl who only wants to run and play with her friends and wear sparkling red shoes then what are we all about.
