In a moment of madness last summer I signed up for the Great North Run 2019 as part of a team of 40 people aiming to raise £40,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK. I had never even contemplated running (other than for the odd bus) until July last year so a half marathon is a huge challenge for me - but one that I was keen to accept. My family has been affected by Alzheimer’s as I know many of you reading this have been.  

Alzheimer’s Research UK receive no government funding for their research and are completely dependent on supporters to fund their research programme.
