Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page set up to collect donations for our climb to Everest Base Camp, and then onto Kala Patthar, reaching 5,643m above sea-level.

We are taking on this challenge in memory of Rachel's dad, David, who was diagnosed with cancer in August 2015.  It was unfortunately terminal on diagnosis and Dad fought bravely for 9 short weeks before passing away on 4th October 2015.  Dad was amazingly positive through his illness and retained a sense of humour throughout all the nasties of the pallative treatments he had to endure.  The charities that the Steve Prescott Foundation supports ticks all the boxes for us as Dad was passionate about his rugby and got amazing support from Christie staff during his illness.  For us, taking on a personal challenge of this size seemed to be a fitting tribute to the man he was and hopefully he'll be proud of us watching from his cloud with a beer whilst we are slogging up the mountain!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity fund, so it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.  Les and I are self-funding our travel to this trek so every penny you donate goes to the Steve Prescott Foundation.  Please give as much as you can for such a great cause!

Thank you!
