Story
Leroy is 11. He has an amazing zest for life and a very infectious giggle. His smile can light up the world. However, Leroy has severe cerebral palsy, which means that he is severely physically disabled. He has no indepedent mobility - he can't even roll over on his own, nor sit without a lot of support. He relies on other people to meet virtually every need that he has. But with the right powerchair, he would be able to explore his environment indepedently. That's why we're fundraising to buy Leroy a SnapDragon from Dragonmobility, which is a custom made powerchair. It will be set up for Leroy to drive himself, with the controls set up just right to maximise Leroy's very limited hand and arm function. It will also allow Leroy to go high and low, so that he can be on the same level as his peers as easily as pressing a button :o) There are cheaper powerchairs out there, but Leroy would find it very hard to drive them.
Leroy has applied to be a beneficiary of The Turbo Trust. By giving to the Turbo Trust through this page, you can help Leroy and others like him, and The Turbo Trust can receive gift aid on your donation if you are a UK tax-payer.
If you want your donation to benefit ONLY Leroy, you can still give through this page but you must NOT claim gift aid, and you should be aware that Justgiving fees will reduce the value of your original donation. So if you want to give directly to Leroy, it may be more cost effective to do so in some other way. Unless the donor expresses a clear preference that a donation should go to Leroy, in which case the net donation will be passed on, donations given through this page, whether gift-aided or not, might help other people as well. However, when deciding how much to grant to Leroy in total, the trustees of the Turbo Trust take account of the level of support received from supporters of individual applicants.
