We offer support, advice and information to UK families affected by retinoblastoma

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

My sister Gemma was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2014 and her
youngest son Noah was diagnosed with eye cancer in January 2016. Please
read their story on https://www.justgiving.com/teams/gemmaandnoahedgar

With the help of friends and family we have been trying to raise awareness
and funding for both the Brain Tumour Research charity and The Childhood
Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) charity by carrying out a number of fundraising
events.

CHECT provided Gemma's family with  invaluable information, advice, care
and support both whist Noah was receiving treatment and on an ongoing
basis. Having recently become a father myself, it  has made me more aware
and determined to support CHECT to ensure they can continue to help other
families who have the misfortune to find themselves in a similar situation.

Noah has adapted well to life with only one eye and continues to have
regular scans to ensure the cancer does not reoccur.

On March 25th 2018 I will be undertaking the Colchester half marathon with
some close friends, Dan Mayhew, Tim Wood, Tom Nunn and John Fryer. We will
be running as a themed team 'The Knight Runners', dressed as medieval
knights. We hope our attire will draw some attention to help raise as much
awareness and funding as possible for CHECT, in the same way as our
previous 'Knight Rider' event did in 2016.
